In honor of the unofficial 420 holiday, 450 North brings something else to the party- beer! Wrapped in a cocoon of banana, orange, passionfruit and candies, there might just be a tropical side to this event than just the medicinal stuff.
Just like pureed fruit cocktail, Banana Bluntz pours like a pale banana puddin' appearance while drawing in the nose with a full tropical fruit scent. As a drift of tropical fruit with the soothing scent of vanilla, citrus and cream lead into a rich taste of condensed milk, sorbet and sherbet as the initial taste is rife with cereal and ice cream sweetness.
The smoothie sour ale fully saturates the tastebuds the middle palate in nearly teeth churning in its intensity. Juicy, creamy and rich, notions of banana milkshakes come to mind. As the listed fruits drape in melted ice cream, the suggestions of vanilla and fruit cocktail soothe the senses before it's more tangy flavor steps in late. Finishing with a citrusy tartness, the late taste is cidery, winey and lightly bittered.
Full bodied, cloying and firmly meant as a dessert beer, the malty-sweetness and banana remnants outlast any sourness as a long aftertaste of fruit peels, piths and pulp linger on the tongue, and without any flavor suggestions of the perscribed cannabis blunts.
