1 PINT can
Served in a tulip glass

This beer pours like a glass of orange juice. It is a murky, bright orange color with no head.

Orange aroma right off the bat. Then I get some lime. I get a vanilla smell from the marshmallows.

Big orange flavor upfront. The lime follows giving it a tartness. The marshmallow adds sweetness. I don't get much from the lemonade. Maybe it just blends in with the lime too much.

Full bodied with a smooth, creamy mouthfeel

Really tasty smoothie style sour. It went down faster than my OJ did this morning with breakfast.

In honor of the unofficial 420 holiday, 450 North brings something else to the party- beer! Wrapped in a cocoon of lime, cara cara orange, lemonade and marshmallow, there might just be a citrusy side to this event than just the medicinal stuff.

Just like fresh-squeezed orange juice in the glass, Slushy XL Alien OG pours like pure citrus fruit with extra pulp while teasing nose with a tangy orange, hint of mango, the tanginess of lemon and lime. A drift of soft sweet cream with the scent of tropical fruit and cocktails lead into a rich taste of macerated fruit, ice cream and sherbet as the initial taste is dense with cereal and fruit.

As the smoothie sour ale batters the tastebuds, its nearly teeth coating tartness is intense. Juicy and rich. Notions of smoothie, slushy and milkshake all come to mind. As the full complement of citrus folds into gelato flavors, the suggestions of vanilla and cream soothe the senses before a brisk acidity steps in late. Finishing with a strong lean toward citrus cocktail, a light and pithy bitterness only sells the fruit character even more.

Full bodied, tangy and firmly meant as a screwdriver cocktail type of sour ale, the sweet orange remnants outlast any sourness as a long aftertaste of fruit puree takes the session into a creamy bright and tangy direction, and with no real suggestion of the prescribed dank herbs.
