The constant blurring of the lines that separates more civil sour ale from the wild of slushy gives 450 North it's content to bring those boundary together with passionfruit, mango, kiwi, orange and lime for what's basically an beery tropical excursion.
Just like fresh-squeezed juices right into the glass, Dino Juice pours with extra pulp while teasing nose with a tangy tropical, citrus, cidery and winey scent. A drift of rich fruit puree with the tangy scent of tropical fruit and cocktail lead into a rich taste of condensed fruit, sorbet and sherbet as the initial taste is dense with cereal and candied fruit.
As the smoothie sour ale pummels the tastebuds, its nearly teeth coating tartness is intense, juicy and plush while notions of smoothie, slushy and icee come to mind. As the complement of passionfruit and mango folds into fruit punch flavors, the suggestions of vanilla and orange soothe the senses before a brisk acidity of lime steps in late. Finishing with a strong lean toward juicy tropical flavor, a light pithy bitterness only sells the fruit peel character even more.
Full bodied, tangy and firmly meant as a spiked punch, the sweet tropical fruit remnants outlast any sourness as a long aftertaste of fruit puree takes the session into a spiked punch direction.
