such a weird series of beers, and there is a million of them. its not my thing, ill confess, but its also fun to see how the other half lives, so to speak, and i had a good time dipping into some of these. this one is maybe the most bizarre of the ones i tasted, made with watermelon cotton candy, which i didnt even know was a thing, honeydew, guava, watermelon, and kiwi, sounds tropical and sweet, and it is! hard to make this sort of thing beautiful i would imagine, and this is thick mucky greyish orange to pink, near flat, and pulpy. the nose is sweet, candy-like, intense, and more fake than real watermelon to me, hard candy, the tartness of the guava is the part i like the most, with the modest lactic souring in here it makes my mouth water. it definitely has a cotton candy taste to it, which is neat i guess that it comes through in a beer, but like, its hard to drink, weird as a liquid, and because of that element this is immediately novelty level stuff. honeydew is distinctive but often subtle, and to me its an odd choice to pack this with other more potent ingredients, it doesnt really smell or taste like honeydew melon at all, it could be somewhere in the swirl, but i wish it were more forward, thats the part i was most stoked on, so this immediately becomes a little disappointing. watermelon is obvious though, its citrusy too, and this might have just a little bit more actual malt coming through than the others i tried, so somewhat more beery, although marginally. thick to drink, sugary on the teeth and tongue, smoothie textured for real, and a mix of flavors i dont think is all the way compatible. playful stuff thats pushing boundaries, but its just not really for me...
