Like catnip for Santa’s elves, 450 North makes sure to win the affection of the holidays with an eggnog flavored sour ale, equipped with cinnamon and almond because, …why not?
Pouring milky white and hard to tell the separation from ale from froth, the strikingly looking ale entices the nose with a sugary sweet scent of heavy cream, sugar cookie and hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Expectedly sweet to the tongue, any notion of beer is foregone to heavy cream, soothing spice and true eggnog flavor.
Peps of tartness arises as the heavy sweetness permeates the middle palate, but far shy of balancing the sweetness. As a sense of bitterness arises, the mind goes to chewable vitamins and an aspartame finish despite the cinnamon and citric acids that seem ill-placed.
Oddly, 450 North actually tries to capture an essence of beer in Sandy Claws where this type of flavor just wants to be alcoholic eggnog.

Looks just like you would expect from an eggnog beer...eggnog! Nose was more similar to coconut. The first thought that came to mind was a pina colada. Lots of coconut and pineapple flavors came through for me.
