Like mad little scientists in the beer lab, 450 North brewers set their sights on summer and the lighter, brighter flavors that follow.
Pouring a light golden mauve with a tincture of rose, Live Resin Lemonade casts a thin veil of froth above a densely packed opaqueness and an appetizing scent of lemon and complementary citrus with the juiciness of melon. An upstart of sweetness is candied with cereal, shortcake and simple syrup before the tartness of lime, lemon, green apple, white grape and gooseberry frame a cleanly tart balance. All packed in a cocoon of lemon, strawberry and watermelon, this summer quencher finishes sweet and tart.
Fuller for sour ale but not as heavy or cloying as usual, this Slushy Lite variety tastes more of cocktail than of beer but is refreshing regardless of its makeup.
