Part danish pastry, part croissant, part doughnut and part cake, 450 North's king cake flavored smoothie sour ale is all o.g.

There's no way to make carbonated milk look good in the glass, and that's what King Cake OG does as it settles with a caldering, bubbling disturbance. But its scent is filled with pastry and icing, vanilla and cream, and cinnamon and spice. Expectedly sweet, the early impressions of sugar cookie, cake mix, vanilla and heavy cream set a creamy, sweet and cake batter upstart. A playful tartness cuts through the confectioner's sweetness and brings a winey tartness with green apple, lime, lemon and white grape. A sweet and sour finish sides with the sugary cake mix for a dessert filled finish of vanilla and cinnamon.

Full bodied but off cloying, King Cake OG is a fun thing to drink but is a far departure from anything imaginable when you ask a friend if they want to go out for a beer.

Pours a cloudy, chonky, yellowed-cream color with the thickest, grossest sea foam head imaginable. Strong retention and thick, nasty lacing.

Cream, vanilla, cinnamon and banana in the nose.

Same deal with the taste, but with maybe a hint of coconut in there, too.

Thick bodied for a beer generally, but thinner than it looks. Modest carbonation.

Not sure why this is giving such strong banana. The cream cheese thing is definitely there though, and cinnamon, too. Fun to try a couple sips of, but who needs 16 ounces of this?
