Modeled after a popular kid's cereal, 450 North is basically trixing us into thinking it's breakfast time with beer.
Deep and neon cherry red, Fruity Rabbit pours with a dense and nearly opaque candied appearance. With a low-lying froth hovering, so does a candied fruit aroma with a bevy of fruit cocktail. Candied sweet to start, the early palate is chocked full with fruit glaze, pie filling, jammy sweetness and swirling with the macerated fruits of raspberry, lemon, lime, gooseberry, green apple and orange. Tart and tangy, the beer's balance shows a lightly bitter finish but never enough to balance the beer.
Full bodied, off-cloying and firm to be fruit beer, the Slushy XXL series beer is tasty but doesn't quite resemble the cereal flavor that it promises to capture.
