Taking their slushy sour techniques to the tea house, 450 North teases the senses with an elixir equally meant for sick days as it does bar stools.
Pouring with a pulp-filled, densely packed burnt orange, the ale looks like mango juice just as the largely frothless session kicks off with citrus, cider, wine and pronounced tea leaf. Sweet with cereal, poundcake and pastry, the upstart soon adds a plethora of fruity peach and lemon along with green apple, white grape, lime and gooseberry before shifting to a peppery, herbal and black tea finish equipped with a vodka-like spice.
Full bodied but drier than most of their fruity ales, this more herbal offering is a curious but welcomed addition to the slushy series.
