Light, easy, melony and playfull, you wouldn't know that there's evil lurking within. 450 North sneaks in the flavor of pickle on a fruit-filled squeezebox of sour ale.
Hitting the glass with a splash of light and neon lime hues, a bubbly seltzer-like appearance precedes a juicy scent of citrus, cider, melon and tropical fruit. As its sweetness creeps onto the early palate and bubbly syrup character coats the tongue ahead of green apple, honeydew, passionfruit, kiwi and white grape. A slight brine character adds a hint of pickled charm while a moderate acidity balances the lingering simple sweetness.
Juicy, rounded and tasting much more like squeezebox than beer, this basic alcoholic kool-aid is pleasant enough to drink and is off cloying and juicy at it's core.
