Know what makes smoothie sour ales better? Friggin' lasers! 450 North is putitng lasers on the head of beer for a much more exciting session of cherry and orange.
Deep mauve, cloudy and releasing a loose and clumping froth, the nose is awaken with dark fruit, dark berry, cherry, cider, citrus and wine cooler. Creamy and sweet on the tongue, the character of pie filling, macerated berry, marmalade and kool-aid all strike the palate with a citrus and cherry blend. Tangy with a vinous acidity, the citrus and cider flavors continue to add to the tanginess with a closure of peppery fruit pectins for balance.
Full bodied for sour ale, the session never reads like cotton candy but is certainly a cherry, berry and citrusy blend of fruit that's pleasant to taste but hard to drink.
