Thin, cream colored head with a slight aroma of citrus and spice. The carbonation is mild and accents the hop character of the brew. There is a touch of herbal malt just haunting the flavor. A pilsner-like bitterness lingers between drinks. This is an easy drinking, flavorful American ale, just a wee bit heavier than a lager.

I didn't find this to be particularly noteworthy as a golden ale, though it's a very drinkable brew. Aroma and body were lacking, leaving this closer to an American-style lager than an ale. Still decent, and I'm pleasantly surprised that Goliad has its own brewery.

Appearance: Golden glass holds a half finger white head that laces. The glass shows extremely active carbonation, I've been trying to let it gas out for a few minutes, still waiting. It's also got considerable chill haze, so I feel I need to ding it a bit.
Aroma: Pretty firm DMS / creamed corn note, overwhelms some grainy malt and a flash of hop.
Taste: Again, the creamed corn note leads and steps on an otherwise tasty beer. The finish goes a bit sweet with a slightly earthy hop finish which brings some balance.
Mouthfeel: Very carbonated, medium body, semi-dry finish.
Overall: A tough brew to make, so little room to hide any flaws. There's some good stuff here but the DMS kind of ruined the party for me. Monday morning quarterbacking would suggest looking at boil time/temp and grain selection. I like the hop selection and level, leaves it sweet but flavorful.

It's ok, a bit ordinary. Good carbonation though.
