S'Alright brew pub. Decent size. Worth the stop if you are in staten Island, and who would. most beers mediocre, but some quaffable. Good service. Semi sports bar vibe.

Have visited a number of times and am always satisfied. They make great beer that some might say is straight ahead but they do a great job and the subtleties make it special. Take the Dark Mild. An excellent, well-crafted beer that you could drink all day and not many of the local breweries are doing it. Their Roggenfest is fantastic. Their American Pale Ale is sturdy, assertive and delicious. I love the sours and foggy IIPAs and farm funks like the next guy and i know if Flagship went down that road they'd be great, too. But making classic styles taste really great is all you need (and i haven't had their limited IIPA and want to try it...next time).

The tap room has a warehouse feel set aside from the brewing area. There were lights strung across the ceiling and animal heads on the walls, it was dressed up enough to give it a festive vibe. I liked the NY orange and blue colors used to paint the space. I went during the off hours and would have liked to of seen it on a Friday or Saturday night to get a feel for the crowd. I tried three of the 6 beers on tap and tried to foucs on the ones I haven't seen in the local stores. In terms of quality, the beer was served in a pint glass and was fresh and presented well. I felt it was somewhat difficult tp get the bartenders attention even though the place was fairly quiet the time I was there. The six beers on tap presented a good selection representing different styles of beer. I assume the selection will increase as the brewery grows.

Vibe: The taproom is a very large open space set up inside the brewery with lots of tables and chairs. There is a bar in the back and glass windows let you look into the rest of the brewery, seeing the tanks. The brewery is only a 10-15 minute walk from the ferry terminal in St. George so it makes for a good destination in the borough if you are taking a trip on the Staten Island Ferry from Manhattan.

Quality: Beers were served at the proper temperature using plastic cups. I wasn’t sure if the plastic was a result of the fleet week festival that was going on when I attended as the brewery had live music going on at the festival in the parking lot across the street.

Service: Despite the fact that a festival was going on, service was very quick, both at the ticket counter and the bar. The bartenders were very friendly and struck up conversations, answering questions about the beer.

Selection: A total of six beers were available on tap: APA, DAM (Dark American Mild), IPA, Lager, Wee Heavy, and Wit. Single glasses and flights were offered in the taproom while growlers could also be filled for take-out.

All of the beers that I have tasted were very good and balanced, but the selection is limited. I am sure that as this brewery grows they will add more fantastic beers to their portfolio. I am so happy to have a brewery of this quality on Staten Island. From what I have seen and heard, this place will only get better. I personally would like to see some lighter style beers, or session style beers added to the mix. The owner informed me that they will be introducing a Vienna style lager next month. That should round out their selection nicely.
