473 ml can served cold into a chalice. LCBO purchase for around $4CDN.
Appearance - Very dark brown brew. A finger and a half of light tan head that stays for a few minutes. Good retention and some spidery lacing.
Smell - Dark chocolate, a little molasses, charred malt and smoke. Muted but a nice compilation of aromas.
Taste - More dark chocolate with charred malt and smoke. A little wood. Great complexity. Dark fruits try to inch their way in as well.
Mouthfeel - Medium-full body, modest carbonation and a full rich and almost velvety finish. Very good for a porter.
Overall - A very strong offering from this newer brewery, one of the best I've had from them and a nice added dimension on a standard porter with some wood and smoke.
