330ml can.
L: Golden colour, light haze and one finger of short-lived head.
S: Some bubblegum but also a bit citrusy. Not unpleasant.
T: Fruity with a hint of banana. Kind of bland.
F: Light body and thin mouthfeel. Low carbonation. Bitter/metallic finish.
O: Doesn’t look at all like a Bavarian wheat beer. Doesn’t particularly smell like a Bavarian wheat beer. Doesn’t taste like a Bavarian wheat beer. Definitely doesn’t have the mouthfeel of a Bavarian wheat beer. It’s more like an American pale wheat beer (a really poor style of beer - my experience so far). Didn’t finish.
Hops: Hallertau Perle, Select, Tradition, Mandarin.

L- Pours a vibrant burnt orange colour. Slightly hazy with a 3mm white foam cap.
S- I could smell it during the pour. It has a distinctive ....er fashionable fruit/sour note to it. (I'm blind-tasting this). As a modern-day Colonel Kilgore might proclaim: 'It smells like hipsters'.
T- Unusual, for sure! It has one aspect that is like sweetness+orange squash combined. At the same time it has a 'carbonic' edge (like the taste of soda water due to it's dissolved CO2). The latter together with some hops add a brightness but also highlight the lack of a sense of body. Ie the richness present tastes sugary vs malty complexity.
F- It's feels unorthodox to me. I'm glad I'm blind-tasting it as I enjoy a challenge! It feels like a carbonated orange soda drink with a twist of hops added. Ps to add re: the carbonation; by the end of the glass the beer seems to have gone entirely flat. Strange, this is my trusted tasting glass and happened in the space of just 10 minutes.
O- One of the very strangest beers I've had amongst the recent many hundred. Perhaps the all-time strangest tasting. I wouldn't drink this beer again, even if it were free. A shame as I enjoyed their 'Friday' beer just yesterday.
Bought from Waitrose, Cambridge UK, 330ml hipster can (bright yellow). BB: 23/12/22
Rated and reviewed but yet to submit. Now I'll read the can for any clues what was going on here.... Hahaha!! 'A true and traditional unfiltered Bavarian wheat beer', Well I lived in Germany for a few years and I don't recognise any of that assertion; it's also clearly part-filtered. It goes on '... with a modern spin'. Ok that's true, it's expensive and hard to finish, modern indeed.
