The GA Chapter Room, formerly known as The Fred, is a speakeasy style restaurant/bar in the basement of the Prado location of Taco Mac. It is available (technically) only to Brewniversity members who have more than 75 beers on their list, but you should be able to get in with just a membership card.

This place is a speakeasy in the basement of Taco Mac Prado. It used to be awesome, back when it was The Fred Bar. The vibe is great with the comfy chairs and decor, and a few TVs so you can catch the game. Unfortunately, that's the only thing that hasn't changed.

Over the years the selection has gone down hill, the prices have gone up, and the service has taken a hit... not a good combination. While it has always been a place where they only hire "attractive" females, they at least used to be knowledgeable about beer. The current staff knows the bare minimum to get by... if that.

The selection used to be stuff only available here (in regards to the Taco Mac chain), but now you can get 90% of it upstairs at the Taco Mac Prado. Good luck finding anything under $6, and the "special" beers will run you upwards of $10-12 a pour. The cellar beers are pathetic and grossly overpriced.

I will admit, the menu has gotten better. Not by much, but it's definitely better.

I used to go here every other weekend. Now, I go once every few months, and only because my colleagues want to go. In a city that has two of the best beer bars in the country with The Porter and Brick Store, an up-and-comer in Argosy, and a great brewpub in Wrecking Bar, you have to be crazy to go here. To be fair, this is probably the best option for the Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area. Still, take an Uber... it'll probably cost you the same in the end, and you'll enjoy better beer and food.
