Hard to believe the said abv, but I double checked with the waitress and she again told me that it was 18%abv! I do believe that it is a strong beer of 10+ up abv, but there was not the typical strong presence of alcohol for something that high.
Med body, slick and somewhat frothy mouth feel, mild carbonation.
Solid malt presence with notes of rye, grain, oats, and raisins.
Great vanilla notes with a hint of pine and nice undertones of chocolate.
Finishes with a mild bitterness, some woodiness and a rich lingering malt sweetness.
Overall; easy drinking for apparent abv, nice complexity, could have used some bitterness for more balance.
