Copenhagen 28/1 2021. 33 cl bottle from Belgisk Bryg, Emdrup Mosevej, Kbh. NV. Black label with with the brewery in red and the name in light brown with some information about the beer and that Ter Dolen is a Belgian abbey brewery (do not say that religion is not good for anything).
Pours unclear amber with a mid-sized white head. Settles as thin layer of foam struggling to cover the surface of the beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is medium intense with a sweet malty odor mingling with earthy, fruity, yeasty notes. Sweet pale malts. Caramel. Pear and peach. Banana. Touch of humid cellar.
Fairly strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, smooth yet lively and tingling texture.
Flavor is medium intense with a quite strong sweetness followed by a light tart sourish bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a health tang of alcohol. Lingers for while. Finish is semi-dry and bit boozy.
Solid Tripel - sweet and boozy but a bit over-carbonated.

L- Deep amber, clear (sediment left @ bottle). Pours with 5mm white head, holding well even 15mins later.
S- Classic Tripel really IMO, ABV%+stewed deep fruits.
T- Very much of the Tripel palate. Quite pungent trad grains with a rich facet, deep stewed fruit facet, and a hint of ABV% that's subtle considering it's 8.1%.
F- The feel is perhaps quite understated considering it's an 8.1% Tripel. This beer isn't going to stop you in your tracks as quickly as some 8%+ beers can.
O- Well put together, nothing out of balance/place to note. I'd happily drink this again.

2001 Vintage. Bottled during 05/2001. 12 years old now!
33 cl. bottle sampled @ Bierkaffee ’t Middelpunt in Zolder. Thx! Murky mashed rex fruits, touch amber liquid with basically no head. Nose is huge oxidation in the best way possible, sweet sugary with sherry, figs, dark fruits, sugar and ripe soft banana in a red fruit kind of way. Taste is same pure oxidation goodness, figs, soft & mashed red fruit, sherry, plums, prunes, sweet herbs, ripe & soft banana, port, yeast, more oxidation goodness, toffee,… Full & basically flat. Very impressive & miles about expectation. Absolutely 0 possible off-flavours that could accompany oxidation, absolutely stellar & very affordable, colour me impressed here.

Bought it at the Bierwinkel in Leiden, The Netherlands. Poured it into an Orval chalice.
L: copper golden clear body and one finger of a slightly brownish head that reduces over time to a small layer. medium lacing. some carbonation visible
S: typical tripel smell of yeast with some banana, orange?
T: a little malty, metallic bitter aftertaste that lingers on the palate for some time
F: Carbonation tickles the tip of the tongue and later towards the throat. Burpfactor is high. refreshing.
O: Not as complex in taste as your favorite tripel. rather a real solid one that is a little on the bitter side and low on sweetness therefore will appeal to some. I still have a problem with metallic aftertaste but it is not too bad. I would order this anytime if I am in the mood for a refreshing tripel.
