Poured a nice gold with a decent frothy head, which lasts a while. Upon break, there isn't much going on, but there is a nice amount of lacing.
Smell is nice, botanicals, a nice gingery smell, and then the properties of a Belgian ale; some sweet candi and those Belgian yeasts and esters.
Taste was a bit of a let down. I found it uncomfortably bitter, which does not fit the style. Ginger and botanical flavors were present and the Belgian properties fell to the background quite a bit.
Feel was mediumweight with a nice amount of carbonation. Finish was bitter, ginger up front, and then just the unpleasant bitter.
Overall, I have to say, I am not a fan of this brewer. This beer starts off well, but finishes poorly. The Belgian qualities that are appropriate for the style are overpowered by ginger and in the end this just leaves one disappointed.
