Very thin mouthfeel. Not muddy by any means. Floral and a little spicey before a weird sweetness. Hazelnut aromas go well with malt, but overall this one is an odd take on the double stout

Poured into a wine glass. An opaque dark brown color with a modest tan head. The nose was earthy tones, cocoa, and toast. The first sip brought a rich malt but also licorice, anise, woody notes, and grassiness. A full-bodied and complex beer. Interesting and I enjoyed it for it's uniqueness.

Pours a black color. 1/4 inch head of a tan color. Decent retention and slight lacing. Smells of alcohol, wood, strong sweet malt, slight yeast, hint of licorice, hint of pale malt, and a hint of oatmeal. Fits the style of an American Double / Imperial Stout. Mouth feel is sharp and clean, with a low carbonation level. Tastes of Euro yeast, strong sweet malt, alcohol, slight wood, slight pale malt, hint of spice, hint of liquor, and a hint of earthiness. Overall, weak appearance, good feel, blend, and complexity.

Never had anything from these guys, but i was expecting something decent here. Not the case.
Beer has a great look, good lacing and appearance.
Smells like chalk on an old chalk board.
Tastes like I was licking a chalk board eraser.
The feel is alright, its hard to swallow ether way with its taste.
Overall I'm glad I didnt buy this and just tried it in a tasting. Not worth the time and money spent to produce this beer.

You don't get any of the pecan or cocoa flavors at all in the beer. You start to pick up floral notes as it warms up, but that is all.

Tootsie roll without the sugary sweetness.
