22 ounce bottle into a snifter. Bottled 11/30/16, had 12/31/16.
Pours a mostly clear caramel color, with no head and no real lacing. The smell is figs, yeast, light malt, toffee, a generally herbal aroma. The taste also leads with the figs, then more of what seems like malt than the nose, caramel, dates, light vanilla, overall herbal flavor underneath. I have to admit, I'm not sure they even use malt. Smooth, a good, medium body, not much carbonation.
Not your man for analyzing herbal beers, but, as they say, I know what I like. The figs are dominant and flavorful, a well developed beer overall. Would have liked a little bit more carbonation. Has a nice price point, well worth a purchase.

Sample at EBF Saturday
Brilliantly clear tawny brown color without much of a head. Rich caramel and chocolate with some earthy sweet fig and spicy yeasty notes to counter.
