One of the best NE-style IPAs I've had in Chicago. Lots of fruit and rotten fruit (in a good way), and the feel is on point. Carbonation is well-balanced; not too little or too much. What sweetness is in the beer is balanced out by a little bitterness.
I haven't had my beers by Forbidden Root, but I have to say, this is an impressive first try at the NE style (in that it's better than most in the area). Everything in this beer screams consistency, so if this is what FR can do on a first try, I'm really looking forward to seeing what they can do in the future.
