Tasted on draft at the brewery yesterday, drinking from a growler today. Pours an attractive ruby-copper, with a light rim of foam around the glass. Plum and cherry on the nose, with some malt sweetness and slight fusel notes. A bit tannic on the palate, with light boozy sting and a touch of chalkiness. Sharper than expected for 9% on the mid-palate, but a rounder, moderately sweet finish. Not a classic English barleywine profile, and not super distinctive or bursting with flavors, but interesting and enjoyable nonetheless.
