Classified by the brewery as a "farmhouse India pale ale"
Pours a hazy, semi-opaque mango color with almost no head whatsoever either when poured or retained.
Fruity funk is definitely what you get on the nose. There is a burst of mango, papaya and orange that gives way to a funky earthy yeast aroma.
Taste is very light and crisp - snappy notes of mango, papaya and peach are noted up front with an earthy mildly funky yeast flavor also present. Some green bittering hops come through on the back end. There is almost no sweetness which really distinguishes the fruitiness you get from the yeast in this one, say from a NEIPA where these similar flavors would be present with a greater sweetness.
Feel is light, almost thin. Prickly but gentle carbonation - it feels somewhat under carbonated. Semi-dry finish.
Overall its an interesting beer. I personally don't love these kveik yeast beers ... its just something about the mixing of the barnyard funk and the super fruity - but if thats your thing, this is solid.
