Poured from bottle into tulip, 3+ finger cream colored head, great retention and lacing. Hazy golden in the glass, resembles a NEIPA. Nose is a big surprise, expected to pick up some esters, but they are eluding me. I am getting citrus, grass, earthiness and maybe a little fruitiness from the yeast at the end. Taste has a light fruity ester, more hop driven, grapefruit, citrus, floral, herbal and it finishes with a dry grapefruit pith bitterness which remains on the palate after the sip. Probably one of the better beers in the Aldi pack so far

From the 2020 Aldi beer advent calendar. The epitome of what I want from this style. Funny that the label notes this was brewed with the original recipe from 1758...and the hops are citra, mosaic, etc. lol! Delicate yeast-driven character. Hops jive very well with the fruitiness and slight funkiness. A winner for me and Sarah.

330 ml bottle with a BB date stamp on the label that is 1 year +3 days from now.
Pours with a slightly hazy golden body and a durable, tall white head.
Aroma. Lightly fruity and funky (Belgian yeast).
Flavor. Moderately hoppy and relatively clean for the style. Fruity, grassy and herbal notes arise from a blend of 6 hops, including Citra and Mosaic.

From the bottle marked ""Brewery 1758" - but it is a Marten's product - it pours an ever so slightly hazy yellow amber with a large white head that ever so slowly reduces and leaves lacing everywhere. In the nose, it is a bit citrusy. In the mouth, it is slightly bitter, but with flavors of citrus. Nice!
A nice finish to the 2019 Aldi Advent Calendar!
