Appearance: Pours a lovely clear golden red, crowned by a large, coarse and quite persistent off-white head. Belgian lacing adorns the glass wall, while fat bubbles adorn most of the glass wall beneath the surface. Numerous streams of bubbles race to the surface.
Aroma: Moderate clove and banana notes dominate the aroma, with hints of lightly toasted grain and white bread.
Taste: Upon tasting, banana and clove notes present, with some mild tea notes in the background. There is a mild note of malt sweetness, which is reminiscent of honey. The mild banana and clove manage to hang on to the end of the taste. The finish offers a flourish of mild, but lingering herbal and medicinal hops.
Mouthfeel: Smooth and full, with soft, gracious carbonation.
Drinkability/notes: Very pleasant and very drinkable, This would make a very nice session beer, were the ABV not a bit high at 6.0 percent.
Presentation: Packaged in a standard 330 ml (11.2 ounce) brown glass bottle, with a pry-off crown, served in a La Fin du Monde tulip.

Was an "off-the-shelf pick" (and the only one that I saw there). Couldn't find a date mark anywhere on the bottle. Definitely not the same taste that I remember from when I was stationed in Europe back when. Not a real favorite of mine, for sure.

A: Poured from the 330mL bottle into a mug in Kigali, Rwanda. The beer is an orangey gold color with a pure white fizzy head that dissipates quickly.
S: Honey, vanilla, banana, yeast, cookies, sugar. Lots of sweetness going on here. The vanilla cookies surprised me somewhat.
T: Sweetish with notes of banana bread, honey, vanilla, slight spices.
This is an above average Belgian blonde, especially when found in East Africa. A good find.

Poured from bottle into tulip, 1/2 finger off-white head, recedes quickly, good lacing. Clear amber in the glass. Slight banana and clove on the nose, nothing offending, yet would like more. Taste banana, clove nice dose of malt sweetness in the middle and a good firm bitterness on the finish. Banana and clove are not overbearing, but just hanging around in the background. Slight banana left on the palate on the finish

330 ml bottle with a 1/27/2022 BB date stamp on the back label.
Pours with a clear amber body with high clarity and a decent white head.
Aroma. Some banana with too much clove and a subtle hint of teaberry.
Flavor. Better balance with a more typical level of clove and a light malt base.
Feel. Very smooth with medium-light carbonation.

From the bottle, it pours a clear golden color with a nice white head that slowly dissipates. In the nose, it is light and fresh. In the mouth, it is lightly malty and clean tasting. In the 2021 Aldi advent Calendar.
