This was poured into a nonic pint glass. The appearance was a hazy burnt yellow to orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within about a minute leaving some light messy lacing roaming around the glass. The smell had a sweet citrus burst ranging into a light floral arrangement involving some light pine. The taste was mainly bittersweet involving the citrus, floral and pine becoming bitter to balance. A lingering sweet citrus, floral and piney aftertaste leads into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation seemed right for the style leaving a nice bitterness strolling over my tongue. Overall, I dig this one. I’d have this one again.

LOOK: Beautiful golden color. Not cloudy, but on the opaque side. (Hold it up to the light and you're not seeing much through it except for that lovely color.) One-finger white head that dissipates pretty quickly.

SMELL: Slight hop aroma, but nothing strong and nothing particularly notable.

TASTE: Mild leading edge. Crisp/sharp finish that's reminiscent of old school 80's lagers (!?) like the ones I used to steal sips off (from my dad, I promise). The lager notes are really just in how clean and uncomplicated this pale ale is.

FEEL: Medium-bodied. Clings a bit, especially in the back of the mouth there.

OVERALL: The absolute perfect choice to accompany that first grilling session of the season.
