This was poured into an English pint glass. The appearance was a hazy dark brown color with a one finger white foamy head that quickly dissipated leaving barely any lacing. The smell started off with herbal and grassy hops. A nicely done caramel to slight toffee rolls in underneath. The taste was mainly herbally sweet with a nice backup by the grassy hops. A lingering tea-like to herbally sweet aftertaste leads into a wet sweet finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fine sessionability about it. Carbonation runs super smooth allowing the tea-like qualities to really come across in light super smooth to almost a creamy like fashion. Overall, what a nice English mild ale brewed by an American company, everything is done right on and this would be a definite food beer with fish n’ chips.
