Three times a charm, right? Yes, I'm finally getting around to record my thoughts on this beer here.
This time, this was poured into a becher pint glass. The appearance was a beautiful tan two fingers worth of foamy head slowly dissipating to leave some concave rolling lace, somewhat filmy to coat but nice and intricate. The pour it was brown but the body left more of a dark brown close to black when held up to the light.
The aroma was excellent! Having a stellar balance of sweet coffee to roasty and semi-ashy coffee grounds to beans intricately weaving through some dark chocolate nibs and a sly amount of oatmeal-like sweet character. Just a nip of vanilla at the end.
The flavor leaned slightly towards the blend of the coffee beans and grounds, sweet ash with roast and a subtle amount of dark chocolate bitterness. Mild aftertaste of roasty coffee beans to sweetness of dark chocolate.
The mouthfeel was about medium bodied with a fair sipping quality about it. Good carbonation and ABV. What a spectacular mature finish of quality driven after-dinner like coffee beans.
Overall, what an absolutely amazing coffee oatmeal stout! Probably Dan's best job of any of his beers to date!

Can. Near black with fizzy head that falls to island and ring. Roasted coffee and dark chocolate aroma with earthiness and slight tang. Chocolate and fruity fig with wheaty tang and mild finish. LIght and slight. Good.
