a really robust ipa here, almost too intense on the first sip, but this grew on me, definitely the better of the two beers i had in here, and something pretty classically built. its copper in color, pretty deeply malty, even old school as they go, and its got a nice tall white head on it from the tap, a little chill haze, and a strong nose of fresh cut pine, herbal spice, and resinous weed. its balanced but bold, some sweetness from the grain running through the whole thing, and a pretty intense hoppiness both in aroma and flavor, some bitter orange and generic citrus pith to it, a long oily linger on the tongue after each sip, and a pretty good body on it too. its not quite clean on the fermentation side, which brings this down just a little bit, but it does scratch my itch for something big and hoppy, and i think this is solid overall. this is a humble little operation with a limited selection of beers but a cool blue collar vibe and i enjoyed my time here. this is, as the name suggests, a classic northwestern take on the ipa style. not amazing, but more than serviceable.
