a bit of an amateur berliner here, nice because of how light it is, this is trying to be summery and minimal, and in terms of body, overall wheat character, and alcohol content, it succeeds. where its less successful is in the aroma and flavor unfortunately, where the souring seems sweaty and stinky, even a little cheesy, not as bright and citrus forward as the best of them, this just isnt quite there from a quality standpoint, and it was definitely my least favorite of the two beers i had in here. a little bit of a compost thing going on in the nose, a rawness to the grain too, subtle lemon, and some minerals. its only mildly sour which is nice, but the flavor of it just seems off to me, at least its a unique unpleasant character instead of the same old pitfall a lot of brewers run into with these, but its still not something i really want to drink. i think with some fruit or syrup or something it could be better, but on its own it seems flawed and also missing something. neat to see a small brewery like this attempt something of this nature, but ill stick to their ipa if i find myself back in here anytime soon...
