On cask at MacLeod Ale Brewing Company in Van Nuys, CA.
Pours a hazy orange-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to a partial film on top of the beer. A foamy lattice of lace coats the glass on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, roasted nut, caramel, and slight wood aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, caramel, nut, and vanilla flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of toast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and medium bodied mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer with the oak aging adding a nice vanilla flavor in the taste.
