On cask for Cask & Ye Shall Receive held at MacLeod Ale Brewing Company in Van Nuys, CA.
Pours a murky crimson-brown with a foamy khaki head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Tiny dots of lace drip into the remaining beer on the drink down. Smell is of toasted malt, caramel, toffee, and brown sugar aromas. Taste is much the same with toast, nut, and caramel flavors on the finish. There is a mild amount of toast bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and smooth mouthfeel. Overall, this is a good beer that is tasty and easy to drink.
