20 oz. pint on cask at the brewery Sunday, July 14, 2019
As good a pint of bitter as almost everything I got to try during a trip to England in April 2018. It's a bit more American-hop forward with a hint of citrus flavor, but it still has all the good bread-malt flavor you expect from the style. It was good enough that I stuck with it over a long session of pints. The cask conditioning was fantastic, too. Perfectly crisp to start off with and plenty of weight as you got into each pint.
I've found very few good English pale ales brewed here in America, but Jock's Favorite is the real deal. If I lived anywhere near the brewery, I'd visit it once a week just for a pint or two of this beer.
