Hazy orangey amber brew with a modest white foam, but lots of lacing in the tall Maredsous glass. Foamy and a little sticky in the mouth. Big aromatics of orange marmalade, lemon peel, even some dark grapes. There's a hop candy taste and a citrus finish. Not overly bitter.
Oh, the dankish, leaf mold murk of this stuff! Sweet and malty. Still, it's an interesting hop stew with a pleasant honey and malt sweet forgiving taste. If this was a cheap date from Trader Joe's it would be more likeable. From the 22 oz bottle purchased at Windmill Farms in San Diego.

On tap at Newhall Refinery in Newhall, CA.
Pours a dark honey orange with a foamy bone head that settles to wisps of film on top of the beer. Thin streaks of lace form around the glass on the drink down. Smell is of citrus zest, pine needle, and earthy hop aromas. Taste is much the same with citrus zest, earth, and pine needle flavors on the finish. There is a medium amount of hop bitterness on the palate with each sip. This beer has a lower level of carbonation with a slightly crisp and dry mouthfeel. Overall, this is a pretty good beer with a nice mix of citrus and earthy hop qualities all around.
Serving type: on tap.
