Another excellent brew from Old Flame Brewery. Like other reviews have stated, very typical of the style in taste, colour, and scent. However, what sets this beer apart is the brilliant balance of its flavours: not overly sweet, chocolaty, fruity, coffee-y, or malty, but balanced across the board to deliver a perfect, flavourful and complex beer. Dunkels are one of my favourite styles, and I think this is one of the best dunkels you can get in Canada.

Pours a dark brown colour with a fairly large beige head. The smell is malty and sweet. The taste has hints of of coffee and toasted malts with a nutty background. Nothing unique, but overall not a bad beer

Enjoyed a decent sample approx 6 oz. at a Backyard Beer Festival held by a friend of mine. Straight from the brewery via growler.
Appearance - A nice soft cola colored beer with a large (and ever present) tan head which takes its time in diminishing into the glass. Clear but dark so carbonation isn't readily visible.
Smell - A nice grain bill and just a hint of chocolate. Definitely malty with some caramel notes shining through.
Taste - Clean and crisp, some mild bitterness supported by rich grain flavors and a nice use of malt. Rich and filling yet light to the taste too. A fine dunkel.
Mouthfeel - Smooth and crisp with great flavor for a light body. Carbonation is right where it needs to be.
Overall - By no means the most exciting beer, but a well crafted one that strikes all the right notes to be enjoyable and very drinkable. Hoping these guys can make it to the LCBO soon, so that I can buy lots of this 'brunette'.
