This was one of a handful of beers given to me by friend out in Littleton when I went to visit him last Halloween. Never had anything from Living the Dream before and this was a perfectly serviceable American Pale Wheat Ale that checked off all of the boxes, without being particularly memorable.
Golden in hue and topped off with more than enough head, that took a while to settle down but didn't leave much of any lacing behind, although there was a ring of suds left on the cap throughout my session. Lots of grass, wheat, and a bit of banana in the nose as the taste was mildly floral with some crab apple underneath that. Subtle white wine spice and oak barrel came through as this warmed up as the booze was almost nowhere to be found. Basic mouthfeel and a light carbonation ensured that this would be fun and easygoing as this wasn't funky enough to be considered along the lines of a Belgian beer.
There was a bit of barnyard funk in the aftertaste, which made this feel slightly European as this would be something that I'd reach for on a mild fall day after a hike. No date was to be found anywhere on here, as this was the only drawback of this beer. Loved this label and I'd love this beer if I was in the Centennial State and needed something to quaff after a long day on the front range. Not a bad brew for those who enjoy this style!
