Wipers Times Dubbel is a top-fermented, full-bodied brown ale (6.5% alc. vol.), brewed exclusively using local hops. Wipers Times Dubbel is brewed like a classic abbey-style beer, with twice as much malt as our Wipers Times Blond.

Wipers Times Dubbel packs plenty of unbridled, generous aroma. The refreshing spice aromas of star anise and clove complement the pleasant fruitiness of apple and orange blossom. The hints of ginger, cinnamon and nutmeg give it a delicious, complex flavour. Burnt caramel and mild biscuit notes only add to this beer’s pleasant, full sensation. Easy to drink, with a sublime, nutty finish.

Poured at fridge temp but tasted after letting this sit in the glass for a little bit. Pours a gorgeous dark brown with fluffy tan head. The nose is toffee, dark malts, peppery spice, raisin, clove, and a bit of apple.

The taste is excellent. Caramel, nutty, bread, oak, dark malts, slight cola, and an interesting bitterness on the aftertaste. This is a really nicely made beer. The aftertaste is medium bodied. Would definitely buy again.

From the bottle and poured into a "Wipers Times" glass, it pours a dark chestnut color with a modest head that reduces to a thin layer and some spotty lacing. The nose gets dark fruits. The mouth follows with some slight sweetness and a bit of spice at the end. Overall pleasant.

330ml bottle from Beer Merchants (£2.30):
Dark, chestnut brown with a 2cm, bubbly head that's light tan then settles as a thin, quarter cm lacing that covers the whole surface. The nose is sweet with figs, dates & plum, there's some sugars & cherry with a peppery finish; pleasant but maybe a little on the sweet side. It's effervescent with more of the cherry on the taste, some dates & figs again with some yeast & faint spice at the end; it's not quite as sweet as with the nose either but overall it's a little basic.
