If you want a lightly flavored beer to drink on a hot day, this is fine, but it lacks any of the depth of flavor or robustness of a Red Ale. It actually tastes a bit insipid and thin, almost as though someone mixed Corona Light with a Red Ale. A bit of bitter back taste. Nothing like a traditional red ale. This is not a beer I will purchase again even though it was recommended by a local craft beer store.

From the 16 fl. oz. can with no noticeable date. Sampled on April 4, 2020.
The appearance is as promised, an auburn tone with hints of red under a modest, fading tan head.
The aroma emits and immediate toasted bread crust malt note with an herbal or floral character below that. Also I get a peach and nutty character.
Medium body.
It has a quick sweet malt forward taste that erupts into a mildly floral bitter finale. It does not linger much, It is a pleasant drinking experience.

Poured into a becher pint glass, the appearance was a mostly dark amber color with quickly dying head. Stringy sliding lace. The aroma had some light caramel, faint grain and some grassy to earthy hops. The flavor took the previously mentioned aromas to gently blend and lead with a soft sweetness. Earthiness boosts a subtle spicy crispness. Lingering grainy to semi-sweet aftertaste running into the finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body. Good sesionability and a nice able bodied ABV. Overall, decent amber ale worthy of having again.

100% agree with ajcormiers review. Nothing special here. The guys that run the place are great though.
