Hazy IPA is back! Our freshest batch was double dry-hopped with Galaxy hops, which produce a big citrus aroma and delicious tropical fruit flavor. Hazy IPA pours a bright golden color with low bitterness and soft mouthfeel.

On tap:
Pours with a lightly dense packing of cloudiness. To-the-tip pour didn’t give me a feel for head volume, but the white smattering across the surface reminds me of TV static, with a thin white border. Moderate lacing.
The nose is heavy on peach and passion fruit, with a pineapple/cantaloupe rind bitterness undercutting it. Nice strength that reminds me of cutting open a hop pouch on brew day.
The taste is a bit more grating than the fruity nose, with a slightly whole grainy (wheat seems possible) malt base. A wooden bitterness hints at oats to me, as well. The hops provide a bitterness than doesn’t fully blend. A sour orange note (orange + passion fruit) that has a hint of pineapple rises from the grain pool. A more herbal leaning towards pine wood hop note comes late.
I loved the nose on this, and my first sips showed potential to be a winner. The thinner feel with a somewhat biting carbonation got me a little, as did the more apparent grainy opening aspects. It only dropped this from a huge winner to a quite enjoyable beer, but I would’ve loved a big win.
