We pulled off some of our imperial milk stout and aged it through the winter in Kentucky bourbon barrels, where it picked up complex notes of molasses and vanilla. Barrel Aged Milk Stout is full-bodied and super smooth with a rich, chocolatey sweetness, all rounded out by a hint of bourbon on the finish.

From the small can, it pours a dark stygian brown/black with a light brown head that soon diminishes to thin ring. The nose gets bourbon, alcohol and a sweet roasted malt scent. The mouth gets an initial sweet dark chocolate and coffee taste, followed by a lingering dark roasted malt flavor.

A: black in color with a large tan head.
S:bourbon, oak, and a lot of sweetness.
T: super sweet to front with dark chocolate notes, fading into oak, caramel, and licorice.
F: creamy and medium thick. Dark grains give a bit of an stringency in the finish.
O: pretty tasty, bit in the sweet side for me.
