33cl Brown bottle, poured into a Gordon's Thistle shaped glass. Brewed 23 Sept 09, best before 23 Jan 10.
Ruby red body, clear. Off-white head, thin but a full covering throughout the tasting.
Caramel and malts in the nose, but no huge aroma.
Thin malt taste, a bit disappointing to be honest, no depth or fullness of body. Too watery for a decent Christmas beer and no spice or warmth to be found within it.
Glad it was a small bottle, started looking for something to eat half way through the review because I found the beer boring and bland.

Unstable head which fades to thin layer. Low carbonation with tiny bubbles
The smell of caramel, roasted tones and malty. Tastes of dark grains, malty, slightly bitter, very full bodied. German taste, all malt beer. Aftertaste is long and malt bitter. Although this description sounds very complex, it is not. In fact it is pretty one dimensional. Taste does not develop throughout the beer. Together with the full body, makes me only drink one.
