Thanks Mike. Considering the ABV, I thought this was an imperial stout and poured into a snifter. The appearance was a black color with a quickly dissipating half finger’s worth of white foamy head that left some super light lace just sliding right on into the beer. The aroma had some good sturdy roasty tones up front, light dark chocolate, some milk chocolate and a touch of earthy hops. The flavor yielded to the roast initially and brought in a nice balanced yet low key sweetness. Slides into the aftertaste fairly nice with a quick little roasty finish. On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fair sessionability about it. Good carbonation. ABV actually hides itself fairly nice. Overall, pretty good stout or imperial stout, oh hell, I don’t know, just drink it and find out for yourself.
