A big thanks to Robbeer for bringing this out to Japan.
I couldnt find anything on this bottle that said "Okult" but my bottle is the same that is on the picture for this beer, so I guess I will put my review here.
Apearance: Completely opaque black body with big chocolate colored head. Many weird floaties also visible.
Smell: Very light aroma, only a hint of hersheys chocolate. Simple.
Taste: The taste is also very light, again hersheys and cheap youth hostel coffee.
MF: Tight carbonation and nice mouthfeel.
Drinkability: Very drinkable, but too light to make me want to bother drinking this again.

Dense and foamy brownish head on an intensely dark mahogany color body with some ruby notes against the light. The head fades like an air bed, at a regular pace, but it doesnt disappear completely. The smell shows chocolaty notes, but they are very fresh and fruity. Some slightly woody notes of smoke. Also a hint of tuna/rice salad aroma. Couldnt find a better description than that
maybe a bit oily, salted and spiced. Interesting.
The taste appears quite multidimensional. The first impression is of a deeply roasted coffee character, but it quickly gets combined with a fruity juicy almost winy aspect that shows sweet and almost sour notes of peaches, melon (maybe), cherry and grapefruit. The mouthfeel is pleasing and subtle, its like lying voluptuously on a bed covered with freshly washed sheets. A silk revolution in the mouth. Not too weak either, since the sharp roasted aspect remains present with a dry hoppy thickness. My only complaint may consist in the permanence in the taste of the surprising oily and tuna-like aspect that was noticeable in the smell. Surprizing. Still, a very enjoyable brew.

Brasserie Redange: Okult Stout.
Strength: 6.2% ABV.
Style: Stout.
33cl Curved Flute Serving Glass.
Tasted from the Bottle at the Brasserie Artisanale de Redange BrewPub on 19th April 2003, during a Brewery Visit.
Appearance: A dark black beauty with a dirty brown head. Impervious glossy ebony façade in the glass. The head is smooth & silky, and the foam has a wonderful bitter dark cooking chocolate taste that matches its appearance.
Smell: The only beer in the Redange range that did not have the signature earthy aroma. Strong on roast malt and fresh coffee aromas.
Taste: Dark Chocolate and Roast Coffee dominate the beer from beginning to end. Not that this is a bad thing, it means that you have more time to savor it. A caramel bitterness rises at the end, and forms a fitting lingering finish. A really great, dark Stout.
Mouthfeel: Slick, silky and smooth. Dark Chocolate and Bitterness envelops the mouth like a velvet tampon.
Drinkability: For a 6.2% ABV beer, it is deceptively easy to drink. Smooth, silky with an extremely palatable dark coffee - chocolate character that was liked by both the men and women in our group. Not one person in our group of 32 had a bad word to say about this beer. We had tried freshly bottled samples. Some older samples in the Bottle that we tried started to develop an interesting vinous character, a complex Stout indeed.
Overall: A new addition to the Redange range and it bucks the trend at 6.2% ABV, as all the other beers level out at 5.4% ABV. Smooth, very drinkable and extremely popular with the locals, and tourists alike. I believe this is the only beer in the range that is not made from totally organic ingredients. Probably the first Stout to be brewed commercially in the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg for some considerable time, if at all. Referred to as quaffable, by some English Walkers who were perambulating the Luxembourg Countryside recently. This phrase was taken to heart by the Brewer, who decided to nickname this Quaffable Stout. Cant think of a better name myself. Regardless of the fact that this is a first effort, it is Very Accomplished.
