12 oz. bottle. Pale yellow hazy body. Smells of lime and coriander all over. Tastes salty immediately. Very salty. Fresh lime. Wheat and coriander after behind it. Light body. Crisp. It's very flavorful, perhaps overpoweringly lime-y and coriander-y.

my first from these guys, and possibly even my first from panama, if ive had another one, i dont recall it now. stoked to see a few of these show up in idaho, never heard of these guys before, but neat to know that modern craft like this is happening deep in latin america like this, super rad, and this immediately hollers beach to me. the first half of the bottle pours golden and pretty clear, the second half less so with a little more sediment, a short white head on it, and a really pungent nose of fresh natural lime leaf, salty too, oceanic and tropical without being overly fruity or anything, highly herbal, even gin-like to me. the flavor is fresh and bright, not too sour but clean with the lactic souring, lemony there as much as limey, the lime leaf is floral and even a little perfumey to me, but in a great way, true to the ingredient itself, and the salt and coriander give it good depth, some minerals at the end, drying, with high carbonation. refreshing for a beer so boldly flavored, usually i am not wild about this sort of thing, but the souring is just right, tart at the most, the lime leaf is really natural, and the execution is great, the fermentation tidy, and the carbonation high. this has me wanting to take a surf vacation to panama and crush these all day long. i hope to get to try the other variants that have come around. i am thankful for whoever imported this, and for whoever brought it to idaho, this is the diversity i have been craving. really fun and distinctive take on a style that everyone seems to make now. yum.

As the popularity of gose wash over the beerscape, even brewers of Panama come under the spell of Northern German sour ale. With the spice of salt, coriander and a moderate acidic tone, it seems that the brewers of Casa Bruja are among the few breweries who understand how to make a proper Gose. And with a bold jolt of kaffir limes and the style takes a racy tone.

Pouring a pale golden straw color and cast is a hazy slightly matte finish, the frothy Gose Kimon Kaffir carries a raw grain must across the nose. While suggestions of sour citrus, tropical fruit, light brine and burlap ebb and flow through the aromatic senses, a grain sweetened taste of whole wheat, cereal and germ tease the early palate with bready sweetness, saltwater taffy and sourdough.

As the maltier influence begin to fade across the middle palate, the sourness gains intensity with the familiarity of added kaffir limes, and then suggestions of lemon, green apple, white grape, gooseberry and tropical fruit. light on hops, the sourness carries the balance while remnants of wheat malt remain. A rounded salinity is redolent with the brine of the sea while its lime peel and coriander influence add a perfume of citronella and zesty lime to the late palate.

Lightly musty and remiss of damp burlap, the medium bodied sour ale trails into fruity, floral and musty finish with bold suggestions of white wine, pepper and cider coming with a woodsy scathe and a briny, bready after palate with an undercurrent of sourdough and key lime pie remaining steadfast.
