The beer pours a a nice white and creamy head that dissipates quickly while the beer itself is fairly hazy and an amber-brown color. The appearance looks nice but off-putting for the style.
The smell is nice with strong hop and capsicum notes. The hop notes are a nice floral bitterness but are mixed with a heavy caramel note. The capsicum comes out very well and mixes with the hop notes to create a spicy bitter smell while the malts add a bit of backbone to the beer.
The taste is not bad. The different notes make for an interesting beer. The hops are bitter and floral while the malt and capsicum give off a chili note. The capsicum is very strong and seems to dominate the other notes.
The feel is okay. It's medium bodied but feels unusually thick for an IPA. It has biting carbonation that gives it some nice texture .
Overall, it certainly is an interesting beer with a strong pepper note and it's definitely worth trying at least once. For me, it was a bit difficult to drink the whole way through because the pepper taste starts to get to you.
