The single most tucked-away brewery I've ever been to, which isn't saying tons, but I'd be surprised if it wasn't among the most tiny, simple, hidden places most other people had ever visited too. This is literally just an out building on a little farm. You park behind the house next to chickens and horses (including the namesake as far as I know) And inside this little barn-like building is a counter with some bottles to buy as well as cool ceramic mugs and some shirts as well as reprints of old, out of print (and I do mean old) beer books. The proprietor was (and I'm guessing usually is) there. In the other half of the building there is the brewhouse which is pretty damn traditional without going to the point of him wearing a tri-corner hat or something. All the beers are wood-fired and bottle conditioned. They also mainly are traditional styles with slight tweaks. You can taste a few but it is predominately a bottleshop. The beers have a very rustic character to them that Even features the slightest hint of smoke and I would say that they really pick up a traditional character which, while it doesn't leave you with mind-melting IPAs, stouts, sours, etc. does result in some interesting character that you are not likely to find elsewhere and that (save for a sanitation-derived lack of tartness in the beers I tried) results in about the most old school beers I've ever tried. Worth a stop if you can find it/are for some reason driving by, but definitely nothing fancy/boutiquey/destinationy. This is rated a little higher than I maybe otherwise would, but it is extrememly unique and "rustic". If it was a touch less so on both counts in a couple ways it would be bumped up a touch, but I really liked it and thought it was cool, so your mileage may vary.
