Format: a standard 355mL brown bottle with the age-old Foster's macro label.
Appearance: a pale amber yellow colour with decent visible carbonation. A finger of white head hangs about longer than your average lager.
Aroma: not very much in the way of aroma - just a light cereal grains and some cooked vegetable and grain aromas. Not much there.
Taste: very clean and crisp grains and light hops. There is something else there either floral or herbal that adds a little something.
Aftertaste: a tiny bit of bitterness comes through on the finish, and a bit of that sweet grain.
Mouth feel: light in feel with a good amount of carbonation. Hits the thirsty spot perfectly.
Overall: I actually quite like Fosters. It is one of those beers that absolutely hit the spot when it is hot outside, and has just enough to be a bit different to the standard Aussie macro lager. Decent too for around AU$46 a case.
