From a 16oz can. Canned on September 30th, 2025.
This beer is very dark, pretty much pitch black looking in the glass. No light can shine through. There's a thick 2 finger tan head to the beer. The head retention is quite good and there's great lacing on the glass.
The aroma is on the light side. I am getting a nutty hint with some dark chocolate notes.
This beer is quite malty. I am getting a great nutty flavor right away. This has a great depth to it. The next flavor is dark chocolate and is nice and dark. There's a nice and smooth bitter flavor on the finish of this beer.
The body is great. It is full feeling. I feel a great depth to it. There's a great bitter feeling that just clings to my throat.
This is damn delicious and a pleasure to drink.

It's a sessionable porter in that it's not too sweet - you get some nice bitterness of dark chocolates. If you're looking for a lighter porter that doesn't sacrifice flavors in doing so then this is it. Won't blow you away but is solid.

Appearance: Pours a nearly completely dark color with a strong tan head. SRM of 23. (4.00)
Aroma: Strong aromas of bittersweet chocolate, coffee roast, some cream.
Flavor: Moderate flavors of rich milk chocolate, mild English cream, light coffee roast. A creamy and smooth caramel and chocolate malt flavor.
Feel: Medium to light bodied, low carbonation. Finishes smooth.
Compared to Bent Paddle Black 2/2023: Pours similar. Stronger aromas. More bittersweet chocolate, English cream, caramel. Less American coffee roast. Similar body, slightly smoother.
Overall: A decent English Porter here. Nothing out of the ordinary, but it's pretty good. Bittersweet chocolate, smooth and somewhat creamy. Somewhat light and mild. Decent. (Rating: 3.83)

Generously provided by our Airbnb hostess in Minneapolis, a 16-oz can poured into a pint glass.
Appearance: Dark brown, two fingers head that dissipated only slowly; nice lacing.
Nose: Lightly chocolate, medium roast.
Mouthfeel: Medium.
Attack: Much stronger than the nose — the roast comes through with great flavor. A little coffee as the beer warms.
Finish: Nicely follows the attack, light hop finish, not bitter. A bit more nicely-balanced hop bitterness as it warms.
Overall: This is a great-tasting English Porter. Very enjoyable alone, but would also pair nicely with roasted meats. We’re enjoying it with crackers, grapes, and a variety of cheeses. Truth be told, I’m a bit partial to this beer style, and this is a very nice one.

16 oz can with no date and no ABV into a nonic pint glass.
L: SRM 39 Pours darkest brown to black with a slight amount of light at the base showing through as ruby mahogany, a thin creamy beige head, very fine steady carbonation that's a bit hidden, head recedes to frothy edge foam, light antique lacing.
S: Chocolate, darkly roasted caramel malts, grains, very lightly floral.
T: Toasted grains, light char, dark roasted caramel malts, dark chocolate, a suggestion of plum, gently floral and bittersweet in the finish.
F: Moderately smooth medium to med-light bodied feel with a very smooth medium length finish that is moderately dry.
O: A lightly sweet tasting Porter with a lightly dry finish. Rings all the style bells, is very tasty with no adjuncts or additions to enhance the flavor, and is easy to drink. It is very good in its style.

Tough to find much details on the Urban Growler beers as their descriptions are apparently meant for people who have never had craft beer or they are closely guarding the all important details of what hops and malts they use since anyone could steal their recipes and clone it. Seriously, trust your brew quality.
"Smooth dark and refreshing" is the best they can come up with for a description. Sad as the beer is quite good.
L-dark brown with chocolate head.
S-A real rich chocolate aroma with hints of caramel.
T-Nice roastiness with chocolate, caramel, light java and a touch of nuts.
F-Medium to light medium in body....creamy texture.
O-Excellent porter. Now spend some time describing it in more detail on your website.

Had on tap. Appearance was the best part of this beer: shiny black with oatmeal colored thin head and lacing. Smell is char, dark chocolate, caramel, coffee and roasted malt. Taste is very basic, dark chocolate, coffee and caramel greet you and then you enter with them into char and roasted malt land. Body is a touch watery, though flavors robust nature help. Not bad, just not great either

This is a very solid Porter, with good typical taste, good roasted malts. The downsides are not much aroma, and a thin body, thinner than usual, even for a porter. That said, the flavor is good, and I wouldn't turn it down if I saw it on tap again.

This was a surprisingly good beer. It is a wonderfully drinkable porter. The beer pours dark brown - pleasant 1/4 inch white head. Greta mouthfeel - carbonation is perfect. Had one with a burger for dinner, and sipped on one for an hour late at night - great for either drinking experience. Toasty, nutty - flavorful!
Try it!

Poured from 16oz can into glass. No dating information found on can.
Dark brown colored body. One finger tan head upon pouring, which reduces to thin cap. A couple of spots of lacing, but no real pattern.
Aroma of dark roasted malts and chocolate. Lesser levels of coffee, caramel, and very slight dark fruits.
Taste starts of with chocolate and coffee, with the slight bitterness of the coffee remindful of dark berry fruit. Also a minor flavor of caramel, with light floral hops at the end.
Thin to medium mouth feel, and slightly creamy. Decent carbonation.
A solid porter, with pleasant flavors and mouth feel.
