16 oz can canned 2/23/24 into a Becker.
L: SRM 10 Pours clear deep burnished copper with some light yeast, fine steady carbonation bubbles, a 1/4" smooth beige head that recedes to a very thick skin, medium lacing with fishnet sheeting and hints of banding.
S: Lightly herbal, very lightly floral, caramelized candied malts, a suggestion of cookie dough.
T: Caramelized malts, a peppery hop note and bite, citrus, resin, light black tea, a subtle note of brown bread. The finish lingers with resin, goes wide and stays on the tongue.
F: Smooth with a very subtle fizz medium-light bodied feel with a medium-length moderately drying finish.
O: This beer has a very good balance and holds onto a traditional IPA bitterness. Quite an approachable American IPA in the British style. It is very good to excellent.

Pour a mostly clear golden color with a nice white head..Smell was malty with a baked bread and caramel nose. Taste had some floral, citrus notes with toffee and grainy malt. Mouth feel sweet with mild bitterness.

16oz can. Poured out a clear, golden orange color with a small, off-white head of foam. It smelled of toasted caramel, toffee and floral notes. Sweet caramel with a toasty, bready finish.

L: bright copper amber under a 1/2" ecru colored cap with good retention

S: Malt aromas lead with grain and biscuit supported by earthy hops and a mild yeast character with a faint hint of sulfur

T: medium level of lightly sweet malt with light fruit, spice, a trace of anise leading to a drying, moderately high bitter earthy finish

F: medium bodied beer has a nice creamy texture and medium carbonation

O: The brewer nicely balances the malt and hops with yeast character and anise providing a pleasant accent in the background

Pours a clean copper colour. Smells like light citrus, sweet malts, and not much else. Tastes like it smells, citrus, slightly sweet malts, balanced, crisp, and doesn't linger.

an interesting ipa, it doesnt quite seem hoppy enough to fit the style conventions, and it is quite malty as well, but its not bad beer as a pale ale rather than an ipa, the bitterness never really comes and its too balanced for that. not much head from the tap, but none of the beers we got in this particular pub did, so maybe it was an establishment issue instead of a beer issue. a little copper color, a northwestern C type hop aromatic, and a little toasted grain. the flavor is the same as the nose, surprisingly not real sweet for being on the maltier side, a little bit of fruitiness to the hops, but not very much bitterness. i think the amount of hops needs to be increased a bit to get it into the ipa range, they are lost to the grain a bit. carbonation is lagging a little too, so one pint was all i needed of this one, flatter beer fills me up quicker for some reason. not a real impressive first beer from these guys, but it looks like they have a big range of beers. i will make a point to try some other stuff of theirs when i am back in town. a good ipa for those who like them a little more mild.
